A little while ago, my mother and I stumbled upon a dollhouse on Craigslist. We'd been wanting one for some time-- more specifically ,one that would be ready to furnish. The one we ended up purchasing is a "Country Victorian" by Real Good Toys.

(I'll take some pictures of the exterior of ours eventually, but I need to fix it up a bit first, and I'd like to add some things to the front porch!)

Anyway, the interior of the house had been mostly finished, with wallpaper and (I believe) handmade floorboards. It's very beautifully done. However, the bathroom was not so easy on the eyes. It became my first project, and my desire to make it into something cuter overpowered my fear of completely butchering our new house

Here it is, mostly finished! Not too bad for my first attempt at many things. (Not pictured: my swearing and borderline crying while I attempted those things! :D) I still want to add a few little details and toiletries.

On the right is a hutch I purchased from MiniatureCrush on Etsy. I painted it blue. The TP and the kleenex were purchased on eBay, and the blankets came from a wardrobe I bought from a miniature show as a mother's day present for my mom.

The book is "The Sinking of the Titanic", purchased from LDelaney. I've went ahead with a slightly nautical theme for the bathroom. I hope to build a very beachy dollhouse at some point, but who knows when or if that will happen.

The tub, sink, and toilet are all from the same Chrysonbon kit. I actually snapped one of the tiny faucets in half and had to superglue it back together. I also accidentally used the top of the stopper for the tub faucet as a drain, not realizing what it was actually supposed to be, so I had to use some non-vital parts of the kit to construct a new faucet. The soap rack and tiny soaps are from eBay. The towel rack, along with the TP roll, I bought at a miniature show. The beautiful rug is by GreenGypsy on Etsy. I absolutely love it!

You can only see the bottom corner, but the "painting" is actually a framed stamp! I purchased it from MyMiniEye

On the left side of the bathroom is the toilet, a hamper I bought on (again) eBay, and toilet paper. It's real toilet paper I just cut to size and wrapped around the roll.

I wish that I had more pictures to share, but, unfortunately, it's an enclosed space and the walls aren't removable, so the best I can do are awkwardly angled cell-phone photos D: Hopefully, more to come soon! Thank you for reading.

First Post

Hello to anyone out there who has stumbled onto this blog. I've created it in the hopes of connecting with other miniature and dollhouse enthusiasts, since it seems to me that most of my miniaturist idols have blogs of their own. I've loved miniatures all my life, but as for constructing dollhouses and finishing their interiors, that's all very new to me. But, despite the fact that I'm still learning, I'm having a wonderful time with the process. I look forward to interacting with new people, and to posting my various projects.
